Financing

Funding from external entities (e.g., grants, reimbursement) is available to implement and/or deliver the innovation.

A scoping review highlights the importance of financing and recognizes a wide variety of financial strategies (Dopp et al., 2020). This construct captures payment schemes (Dy et al., 2015; Klein & Sorra, 1996), reimbursement (Greenhalgh et al., 2017; Hohmeier et al., 2019; Moullin et al., 2019; Raghavan et al., 2008), remuneration (Kirsh et al., 2008; Moullin et al., 2016), grants, and donations. It also includes overall funding constraints regionally or nationally (Aarons et al., 2011; Greenhalgh et al., 2017; Nilsen & Bernhardsson, 2019), distinct from local economic conditions (see Local Conditions). The original CFIR further elaborated by saying that reimbursement systems and other monetary incentives that are controlled outside the Inner Setting can influence implementation (R. P. Grol et al., 2007).

Qualitative coding guidelines that are aligned with the Updated CFIR will be added in the future.

As we become aware of measures, we will post them here. Please contact us with updates.
