Information Technology Infrastructure

The degree to which technological systems for tele-communication, electronic documentation, and data storage, management, reporting, and analysis support functional performance of the Inner Setting.

Several published adaptations of the original CFIR (Laura J. Damschroder et al. 2009) and recommendations highlighted the importance of the Information Technology Infrastructure (Dy et al. 2015; Ashok et al. 2018; Yuan et al. 2019). Yuan et al. found that a uniform information system played a key role for family physicians who used it to access complete health information; while the presence of a uniform system promoted coordination between specialists and led to higher quality health management of patients, the absence of a uniform system led to duplication of work and lower efficiency (Yuan et al. 2019).
